Eduard Folayang: A Rising MMA Star from the Philippines

Coming from the Philippines, Eduard Folayang is starting to make a mark in the MMA scene.

For the last several years, the has become a hot bed for MMA fans and a growing base of fighter talent. Possibly one of the brightest prospects from the country is fighter, .

The former school teacher turned fighter recently won his main event bout for the fledgling promotion in Singapore. In the debut of One FC, Eduard Folayang defeated via unanimous decision despite acquiring a badly broken nose early in the fight. He also admits that the rousing success of the promotion’s inaugural event impressed him, and he is looking forward to compete in more One FC fights.

While the next One FC event is currently slated on December, Eduard Folayang hopes to be a part of the show as well. However, he has tend some commitments back in the Philippines first.

“I really want to fight again this December for the One FC but I have made an earlier commitment in Wushu. It is important for me to represent my country in this event because it’s one way of giving back to my nation.”

Nevertheless, there’s only a little worry for his fans. Eduard Folayang’s manager is currently negotiating for a multi-fight deal with the organization. And on his return to One FC, his possible opponent would be the Mauy Thai star — . But whoever his next opponent will be, Eduard Folayang is excited to see his star continuously rise as one of the best home grown fighters – not only from the Philippines – but as one of the top competitors in the world.
