Alistair Overeem Leaves Golden Glory Team
Alistair Overeem announced via Twitter that he has departed from Golden Glory. The management, on the other hand, might take legal actions.
Recent UFC signee, Alistair Overeem, announced on Twitter last Tuesday that he has split from his longtime MMA team — Golden Glory. In response to that, Golden Glory head – Bas Boon – informed MMA Junkie that they may take legal actions against the fighter.
“I wasn’t really surprised, actually, after the last three months because he already had a lot of different ideas on how he would divide certain percentages which were normal in the past, and apparently, are not now. I think the judge will decide on this issue that we have, and when that is decided, we will see who was right and who was not.”
On the other hand, Martin De Jong – one of Alistair Overeem’s trainer at Golden Glory – was caught in the middle. While he is certain that the fighter departed with the management, he is not sure whether the heavyweight talent will train with him again. Alistair offered few details about his decision to leave Golden Glory, and requested for his privacy. His representatives were also unable to give further comment.
The news came in just weeks after Alistair Overeem signed a multi-fight deal with UFC. The contract includes a heavyweight match against Brock Lesnar at UFC 141, which will take place on December 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.View Article Source »
