UFC 137: Chris Camozzi Returns to Face Newcomer Francis Carmont

Chris Camozzi returns to the UFC Octagon to meet newcomer Francis “Limitless” Carmont at October's UFC 137 event.
Following his release from the promotion after a submission loss to Kyle Noke at the UFC 127 event last February, American MMA fighter – Chris Camozzi – will be having another chance to return in the Octagon. UFC officials announced that he is set to meet the promotion’s newcomer, Francis Carmont, on the upcoming UFC 137 — which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on October 29.
The evening’s main card headlines the welterweight championship bout between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit; while the Camozzi vs Carmont match-up takes place on the night’s preliminary card.
Chris Camozzi (15-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will be making his comeback in the UFC after attaining a controversial split decision victory over Joey Villasenor at the Shark Fights 15 event. The said match-up was initially ordered as draw, but was eventually overturned and counted as a win when the New Mexico Athletic Commission revealed that one of the judges’ scores was added incorrectly.
On the other hand, Francis Carmont (16-7 MMA, 0-0 UFC) – who just signed his multi-fight deal with the UFC – currently holds a record of five consecutive victories. He is a teammate of UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, Rory MacDonald, and John Makdessi at Tristar, and has been known for attaining victories through submissions and TKOs. Most recently, he defeated Jason Day via TKO at the “SITH – Slammer in the Hammer” event.
