Reagan Penn, to Make MMA Debut on ProElite 1 in Honolulu
UFC icon, BJ Penn, is not the only MMA fighter in the clan, as his younger brother - Reagan Penn - is set to make his MMA debut at ProElite 1.
BJ Penn’s younger brother – Reagan – known as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt holder with no experiences in mixed martial arts fighting, will be having his official MMA debut in a bout against Paul Gardiner (2-0) at the returning ProElite 1. The said event will take place on August 27 at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, as recently confirmed by ProElite vice president of fight operations — T. Jay Thompson.
Although Reagan Peen has never been a part of any amateur or pro MMA matches before, he has been in his brother’s side for most of his bouts. In fact, he was said to be coached and trained by BJ before he entered the world of MMA fighting.
Opposing Reagan Penn in the August event is Tennessee’s native, Paul Gardiner. He had obtained a record of 5-3-1 during his amateur days, but ever since he turned pro, he achieved a 2-0 record wherein he had defeated all three of his challengers in the first round.
