Strikeforce Releases Fedor Emelianenko
Following his third consecutive loss, Fedor Emelianenko was released by Strikeforce.
Following his third loss against Dan Henderson last Saturday, UFC President – Dana White, co-owner of Strikeforce’s parent company; Zuffa – announced that Fedor Emelianenko will be cut from the promotion.
The 34-year-old Last Emperor said after his match against Dan Henderson that he might consider retirement upon returning to Russia. But if he chooses to return, it might be under a new promoter. His contract with Showtime, the premiere cable channel that broadcasts Strikeforce and M-1 Global tournaments, still continues. That said, it is still possible for Fedor Emelianenko to compete on Showtime under M-1 Global, but not with Strikeforce co-promoting.
