Strikeforce Releases Fedor Emelianenko

Following his third consecutive loss, Fedor Emelianenko was released by Strikeforce.

Following his third loss against last Saturday, UFC President – , co-owner of ’s parent company; Zuffa – announced that will be cut from the promotion.

The 34-year-old Last Emperor said after his match against Dan Henderson that he might consider retirement upon returning to Russia. But if he chooses to return, it might be under a new promoter. His contract with , the premiere cable channel that broadcasts Strikeforce and tournaments, still continues. That said, it is still possible for Fedor Emelianenko to compete on Showtime under , but not with Strikeforce co-promoting.
