Cris Cyborg Eyes Fall Return
"I’m training for a fight, hopefully in September or October.” --- Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, Strikeforce's female MMA fighter
A few months ago, during Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos’ hiatus, rumors emerged that she will be fighting for World Wrestling Entertainment. It is also said that a negotiation between the promotion and fighter is in the works. However, the WWE execs denied these rumors.
As Cris Cyborg’s contract with Strikeforce soon to expire, the fighter was forced to seek employment elsewhere — especially as her negotiations with the promotion was stalled. Ultimately, her focus was always on MMA, while the move to WWE serves as a back-up plan.
“I was interested in doing [more than one event] with the WWE, but now I’m fighting again, so I’m going to do that. Since my last fight was finished, I’ve been trying to work on a new contract [with Strikeforce]. It’s almost done, almost done.”
Cris Cyborg’s current Strikeforce deal will lapse on December. However, it was not yet disclosed on who will she meet upon her return. But while she’s still out of the cage, Cris Cyborg is keeping her skills sharp in the hopes that a deserving opponent will come for her Strikeforce 145-pound bout.
