After Three Losses, UFC Releases John Howard

Following his decision loss to Matt Brown at UFC on Versus 4, John Howard is now out of the UFC banner.
The 28-year-old UFC fighter – John Howard – announced in a video message last Monday that he was released by the promotion, following his unanimous decision loss to Matt Brown at UFC on Versus 4. His recent defeat marks his third consecutive loss.
“The rumors are true. I got released today. They finally announced it. … You get three straight losses in the UFC, and this is what happens. I’m not too mad about it. It’s whatever man. I tried my best. My last fight with Matt Brown, I didn’t think I lost, but when it goes to the judges, that’s what happens.
“My plan right now is to either go to Bellator or DREAM … or whoever makes the best offer, I’m going there. To UFC, Dana White, Joe Silva, thank you for the opportunity.”
Heading to the June 26 tournament, both John Howard and Matt Brown expected the loser to be terminated from the promotion. The former earned a decision loss via 28-29 scores across the board.
