Urijah Faber: Almost Positive for a Cruz vs Faber Trilogy
“I’m almost positive we’re going to have a rematch." --- Urijah Faber, UFC Bantamweight fighter
Despite his unanimous decision loss against Dominick Cruz at UFC 132, he’s confident that he will have another crack for the title sometime in the future. As he stated on Bruce Buffer’s ‘It’s Time’ show on Shedog Radio Network:
“I’m almost positive we’re going to have a rematch. I think it needs to happen to find out who’s the boss. I don’t feel like I was threatened at all. I feel like I could have done more. He probably feels like he could have done more. I think it needs to happen.”
Although reigning bantamweight champ, Dominick Cruz, out-pointed Urijah Faber in their recent face-off, the later also holds a win over the division’s king. It should be remembered that the California Kid was able to submit Dominick Cruz via guillotine choke last March 2007 at WEC 26. That said, a third encounter makes sense. However, the bantamweight contender is not sure on when it’s going to happen.
Urijah Faber also believes that he fought a good fight. However, he might have to try another approach once he gets another chance to meet Dominick Cruz.

“I tried going for the finish. I don’t really think about decisions very much and I think I need to start being a little more cognizant of that. I definitely feel like I could have been more of a person that’s put on the appearance of winning the fight rather than trying to finish the fight. I think that was the difference.”
