Mike Kyle vs Gegard Mousasi, Lined-Up for Strikeforce Event in September

For the second time around, a face-off between Gegard Mousasi and Mike Kyle is scheduled for a Strikeforce event in September.
Gegard Mousasi (30-3-2 MMA, 2-1-1 SF) and Mike Kyle (18-8-1 MMA, 2-3-1 SF) is possible to be lined-up for a match in a Strikeforce event this coming September 10. Although the specific name of the event has not yet been announced, reports said that it will feature a Middlewight title face-off between Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Luke Rockhold.
Originally, the two fighters were supposed to meet at the “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley” card last April. Unfortunately, Mike Kyle has suffered from a broken arm, pushing him to withdraw from the game. Keith Jardine, who took his place, ended a draw game against Gegard Mousasi.
Meanwhile, Gegard Mousasi seems to be preparing for the said event. His representative, Apy Echteld, told MMAJunkie that the fighter is actually scheduled to attend a wedding event sometime in August. However, he will still bring a trainer with him, so he could be ready for his match with Mike Kyle. Apy Echteld said, “It’s up to Strikeforce. Give us a date – we’ll be there.”
Aside from a face-off with Mike Kyle, Light-heavyweight champ Gegard Mousasi is also slated to battle Hiroshi Izumi in July 16’s DREAM: Japan GP Final at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo.
On the other hand, Mike Kyle hasn’t sent any comments regarding the September event. But one source from his camp mentioned that the Heavyweight fighter is aiming to take the victory after having a disappointing TKO loss to Antonio Silva during the Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu event last December.
