After being away from the Otagon for a long time due to his shoulder surgery, Jon Fitch is now planning to start his training for the rumored UFC 138 tournament in San Jose.
Former UFC title contender, Jon Fitch, will be back in training to return inside the Octagon by November after recovering from a shoulder surgery. It should be recalled that the injury forced him out of his scheduled bout at UFC 132 against B.J. Penn.
Based on his Twitter post, Jon Fitch’s doctors gave him the good news and said that he could return in training on September 1. This will make him more than ready for the upcoming UFC 138 at San Jose.
Jon Fitch is referring to the rumored UFC 138 tournament for November at the HP Pavilion. The UFC event will feature the anticipated match between UFC heavyweight Champion – Cain Velasquez – and the heavyweight No. 1 Contender – Junior Dos Santos – for the heavyweight title. However, Jon Fitch still didn’t have an opponent yet, but he said that he wants a high level contender. He also hopes that his opponent had a title belt around his waist.
One of the candidate to fight Jon Fitch would be the former lightweight and welterweight champion, B.J. Penn. The two fighters had met inside the Octagon, ending their match in a draw at UFC 127. Another name on the list is former Strikeforce middleweight champion – Jake Shields – who forced him to tap out during a grappling tournament.
Whoever ends up being his opponent, Jon Fitch will get himself back in shape beginning September 1 and will be ready to face his contender.View Article Source »
