Takanori Gomi to Avenge to Nick Diaz’s Brother at UFC 135
Takanori Gomi seems to be aiming for a revenge against Nick Diaz' younger brother - Nate Diaz - at the UFC 135 event this coming September in Denver.
This would not be Gomi’s first fight against the family. In Pride 33 last 2007, Takanori Gomi has been finished by Nick Diaz through gogoplata. However, the said match was declared a “no contest” after Nick Diaz’ marijuana tests turned out positive. Regardless of this decision, the former PRIDE champ still has the memory of a loss against the reigning Strikeforce welterweight king.
And now, in order to take vengeance, Takanoru Gomi is preparing to battle the tough Stockton, California native — Nate Diaz. According to UFC President, Dana White, “Verbal agreements are in for an explosive lightweight match-up, as the “Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi takes on Nate Diaz at UFC 135. Gomi had an amazing battle with Nick Diaz in PRIDE and is looking for some payback against his brother.”
On the other hand, Nate Diaz progressed to 170 pounds and received victories against Rory Markham and Marcus Davis. Unfortunately, those wins were just sort of a glimpse. Nate Diaz then committed losses to Dong Hyun Kim and Rory MacDonald, which made the Cesar Gracie trained fighter goes back to his usual weight of 155 pounds.View Article Source »
