KJ Noons: Aiming for the Title Shot After Finishing Jorge Masvidal
Regardless on who's match Scott Coker would announce, MMA fans are expecting that the KJ Noons vs Jorge Masvidal bout will be a no. 1 contender's fight.
While Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker, also mentioned that the Gesias Cavalcante vs Justin Wilcox match is a potential no. 1 contender’s bout, most are pointing at KJ Noons vs Jorge Masvidal for that regard. KJ Noons, a former boxer and kickboxer with 14 knockouts on his resume, is gearing up for the incoming challenge. However, he is not looking past Jorge Masvidal.
“He’s a great opponent, great striker, I’ve got nothing bad to say about the guy. For No. 1 contender (and a shot at the title), I want to have my hand raised at the end of the night.”
Jorge Masvidal is a striker himself, winning ten of his fights by either KO or TKO. And just like KJ Noons, he went up to 170 pounds to face Paul Daley in 2010. Albeit the British bad boy won by decision, Jorge Masvidal fought smart by looking for takedowns rather than winging punches with him. But whether he will execute a similar game plan against KJ Noons this Saturday, the King is not concerned about it that much.
Will KJ Noons be able to get the job done on Saturday and earn a shot at Gilbert Melendez? Fans should watch the tournament this coming weekend to see if the King can accomplish that goal.View Article Source »
