"All of the boxers wish they were involved with us. So now that we’re involved, literally after this fight is over, I’m going to fly over to see Nick Diaz. We’re going to sit down and talk.” --- Dana White, UFC President

After his first-round victory over Paul Daley last month in San Diego, welterweight champion – – restated his desire to cross over professional boxing again due to lack of compelling fights. The fighter and his camp even pointed out former super middleweight king, Jeff Lacy, as a possible opponent.

Heavy.com’s Megan Olivi brought up the matter to President, Dana White, during yesterday’s 129 pre-fight conference. The President shared his thoughts on the subject.

“I’ll say the same thing I always say about Nick. He’s a tough one to deal with. He doesn’t play the game well. I think the kid has potential. Forget about fighting – he has the potential to be a star. But for some reason he’s an anti-star. I know for a fact that boxing isn’t for him, because I’ve been in boxing for years. All of the boxers wish they were involved with us. So now that we’re involved, literally after this fight is over, I’m going to fly over to see Nick Diaz. We’re going to sit down and talk.”

While remains adamant in his decision that no Strikeforce fighter will compete inside the Octagon, his hands could be forced with the current situation with Nick Diaz.
