After loosing his light heavyweight title in an emphatic fashion, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua is now working to comeback in the Octagon. And he's eyeing UFC Rio.

After Mauricio “Shogun” Rua lost his light-heavyweight title to Jon Jones at UFC 128, he is almost certain to return in the Octagon at UFC Rio.

“We are already talking to the UFC about his next fight. They are really very supportive of us and after the bout, Dana [White] came into the locker room to show support and said he felt rhythm was important for Shogun, so whenever I was ready, I should call him cause they wanted him to fight soon again.”

It makes perfect sense to see Brazil’s famous MMA fighter to be part of UFC’s August 27 event in Rio the Janeiro. However, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua’s next opponent is yet to be known.

More updates are sure to come, so just keep it posted here on Fighting Insider.
