Thiago Silva’s UFC 125 Urinalysis is Inconsistent

After further investigation, the Nevada State Athletic Commission concludes that Thiago Silva's drug test was "inconsistent with human urine." What now?

Last Wednesday, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director – – confirmed that ’s sample was “inconsistent with human urine”.

Just a refresher: Thiago Silva defeated Brandon Vera at via unanimous decision last January. But after that, he was scrapped from a UFC 130 bout against Rampage Jackson due to a positive drug test result. However, Thiago Silva’s initial test was flagged and further testing confirmed that the result was inconsistent. That said, the 28-year-old fighter is temporarily suspended until the April 7 hearing.

As of the moment, Keith Kizer pointed out that the is still investigating one sample from the event. Meanwhile, the exec could not confirm whether or not the sample belonged to Thiago Silva. The fighter will be asked to address the situation at the Las Vegas hearing, where he could face a suspension, fine and making his win to a no-contest.

Officials of UFC, on the other hand, have not commented on the matter, and opted to wait for the April 7 hearing’s out come.
