Zuffa Buys Strikeforce

“I don't want to disclose any of the details on how the deal was done, but the reality is that we now own Strikeforce.” --- Dana White, UFC President
Strikeforce is no longer UFC’s competitor, as Zuffa officially purchased the San Jose, California-based fight promotion. According to Dana White, UFC’s President, expanding Zuffa’s talent pool was a necessary step to take while the promotion makes a more international pursuit. However, the UFC President did not disclosed the exact negotiation period. But Dana White confirmed that the buyout “happened” quickly.
Meanwhile, Strikeforce would not be dissolved and will continue to operate independently under the supervision of its new parent company. That said, Strikeforce’s CEO – Scott Coker – will retain his post at the promotion, maintaining the promotion’s operations and managing the talent.
Now that Zuffa acquired Strikeforce, what do you think UFC will do next?
