MMA Hall of Fame: Chuck Liddell

He doesn't only fight. He can also act and dance. In this week's edition of MMA Hall of Fame, Chuck "Iceman" Liddell takes the spotlight.

UFC’s Hall of Fame inductee, , was born Charles David Liddell on December 17, 1969. He has a striking background in Kempo, Koei-Kan Karate, Kickboxing, and grappling background in collegiate wrestling. His record in Kickboxing is 20-2, with 16 of his wins coming via knockout. Together with Matt Hughes and Randy Couture, has the most fights in UFC with 23 and is also widely credited for bringing Mixed Martial Arts in the mainstream of American sports.

Chuck Liddell began studying Koei-kan at 12 years old. And while growing up in Santa Barbara, he often visit the Del Playa Drive. The Del Playa Drive is infamous as the middle of the party scene of the Isla Vista college town. It was in that college town that Chuck Liddell often finds himself fighting with drunk college students.

During his college days in California Polytechnic State University, Chuck Liddell became a Division I wrestler. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business/Accounting in 1995. He was inducted at the UFC Hall of Fame on July 10. 2009.

But more than fighting for the UFC, he also made several film and TV appearances. He starred in the movie Bachelor Party Vegas as himself, as “Graft” in the pilot episode of Blade: The Series, made a cameo in the first season of Inked. He also appeared in the 1981 film The Postman Always Rings Twice with Jack Nicholson. In 2009, Chuck Liddell competed for the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars.

On May 9 2007, Chuck Liddell became the first UFC fighter to be on the ESPN Magazine cover. A year later, he released his autobiography, Iceman: My Fighting Life.
