Coenen is Cool to Defend Title Against Carmouche
Some fans would think that a late change of contender might ruin Marloes Coenen's game plan, the current queen of 135-pounds thinks otherwise.
The current Strikeforce 135-pound queen, Marloes Coenen, was supposed to defend her title to Miesha Tate. Unfortunately, the contender suffered a knee injury and was scrapped from the bout. Now, Malroes Coenen will bring her belt on the line against Liz Carmouche. And if fans were thinking that the late change could throw a monkey wrench to the champion’s game plan, you got it all wrong.
“I’m excited. I’m looking forward to it. [The late change in opponent] is no problem for me. I had to wait a long time to fight again, so I’m all pumped up. I feel well-rounded in all the areas of the game”
The Coenen vs Carmouche bout will grace the former’s first title defense in Strikeforce. Their match will be part of the Henderson vs Feijao event, that will take place on March 5 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.View Article Source »
