Three International TUF Editions on 2011

"There will actually be three (international editions) before Canada. We'll get it done in 2011. There will be three, and then Canada will probably be fourth. I had thought we'd do Canada first." -- Dana White, UFC President
Ultimate Fighting Championship’s “The Ultimate Fighter” show goes international this 2011, and three new countries will get a version of the popular reality series. UFC’s big boss, Dana White, confirmed today about the plans they have for TUF after the UFC 124 pre-event press conference. Unfortunately, Canada won’t be one of those three new offerings, but White said the MMA-crazed country likely will be fourth in line.
“There will actually be three (international editions) before Canada,” White said. “We’ll get it done in 2011. There will be three, and then Canada will probably be fourth. I had thought we’d do Canada first.”
As of the moment, Spike TV plans to air the usual US-based versions of the series, the latest of which debuts on March 30 with the TUF 13 season premiere. But whether it’s online or on other broadcast outlet, White expects the fans worldwide to be able to watch the international versions of TUF. To date, the competition-reality series has produced stars such as Forrest Griffin, Diego Sanchez, Josh Koscheck, Rashad Evans, Michael Bisping, Ryan Bader, Joe Lauzon and many more.
“We’re going to figure out how to get them to everybody,” White said.
Prior to this, White hinted the possibility of a Middle East version of TUF, naming Brazil, England and Mexico as candidates. Recently, TUF has featured two head coaches who lead teams as part of the 28-man, 32-slot tournament.
