WEC 53 Weigh-ins Takes Place on Dec. 15
The much awaited World Extreme Cagefighting final event weigh-ins is set. The fighters that will commence the said championship will be stepping on the scale on December 15,2010 at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
The official fighter weigh-ins for World Extreme Cagefighting’s final event is set. The weigh-ins will take place on Dec. 15 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz. The very same venue that will host the following day’s Versus-televised WEC 53 event and championship doubleheader.
The weigh-ins will start at 7 p.m. ET (5 p.m. MT local time), followed by a Q&A session with UFC bantamweight, Urijah Faber, and former WEC champ, Carlos Condit, follows immediately. The event is open to general public, and will start at 4PM.
WEC 53 features lightweight champ Ben Henderson (12-1 MMA, 5-0 WEC) vs. Anthony Pettis (11-1 MMA, 4-1 WEC), and bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz (16-1 MMA, 6-1 WEC) vs. Scott Jorgensen (11-3 MMA, 7-2 WEC). The show serves as the WEC’s swan song; the fan-friendly organization mergers with its sister promotion, the UFC, in 2011. The Henderson vs. Pettis winner gets an immediate UFC title shot, and the Cruz vs. Jorgensen winner will be crowned the first-ever UFC bantamweight champ.

* Champ Dominick Cruz vs. Scott Jorgensen (for bantamweight title)
* Donald Cerrone vs. Chris Horodecki
