Cody McKenzie vs Aaron Wilkinson Slated for TUF 12 Finale
This Saturday concludes the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 12. It can now be determined who got the excellent coaching ability: Is it UFC Champion Georges St. Pierre or top contender Josh Koscheck? This Saturday fight features Cody McKenzie vs Aaron Wilkinson who both carry an undisputed record.
This Saturday’s “The Ultimate Fighter 12,” will feature quarter finalists which include from Team Georges St. Pierre, Cody McKenzie (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and from Team Josh Koscheck, Aaron Wilkinson (6-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC). The quarter finalists will be meeting on the live finale this weekend of the show.
The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale will take place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and the night’s main card airs on Spike TV.
McKezie, who represent Team GSP, scored with submission wins over Amir Khillah and Team Koscheck hand-picked, Marc Stevens to advance to the quarterfinals. Nevertheless, he fell short in that round when semifinalist Nam Phan stopped him with a few good strikes in the second round.
Before “TUF,” McKenzie made a perfect 11-0 record while fighting throughout the Northeast and Canada. This Alaska native’s first nine wins all came via his trademark guillotine choke, which he successfully showed off twice on the show.
On the other hand, Wilkinson, Team Koscheck’s seventh-round choice, faced everything from facial cuts to his grandmother’s death to an opening-round loss (to Michael Johnson) once on the cast of “TUF 12.” But, during the “wild-card” fight, he submitted to teammate Stevens and got his second shot in the quarterfinals, where he made a gutsy but unsuccessful effort against Kyle Watson.
Prior to “TUF 12,” the British-born Wilkinson posted a 6-3 pro record in the U.K. The Wolfslair fighter has won four of his five most recent fights, four via submission.View Article Source »
