Canadian Sam Stout will meet England’s Paul Kelly in a lightweight clash on UFC 126 on February 5, at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Sam Stout made his UFC debut on March 4, 2006 when he defeated Spencer Fisher by split decision. However, his next appearance wasn’t what he hoped for after submitting to Kenny Florian’s rear naked choke. Stout went 1-3, including his rematch with Fisher that came up short. He rebounded with a victory over Matt Wiman and Joe Lauzon, and his last bout was a split decision win over Paul Taylor.
Paul Kelly, on the other hand, has been in a roller coaster ride after joining the UFC. He was anchoring a professional record of 6-0 upon entering the promotion, and stayed undefeated after beating “Relentless” Taylor via unanimous decision. However, Marcus Davies ended Kelly’s winning streak by way of guillotine choke at UFC 89. He recovered by acquiring two more victories, but was succumbed by Dennis Siver’s spinning back kick afterwards. Kelly recently defeated T.J. O’Brien at UFC 123.
At the UFC 126 main event, Anderson Silva will defend his middleweight title for the eighth time against Vitor Belfort. Stick to Fighting Insider for more UFC 126 details.
