Rivera-Bisping Rumored to be Slated for UFC 127
"The thing is that I know it sucks when these things happen. I know how hard Jorge trained for this fight (and how he) was so pumped at the weigh-ins. (But) we're doing so many fights. I'm sure we'll pop him into a fight real quick and get him going again." ---Dana White, UFC President
Rivera mentioned the probability of the fight at kimura.se. According to sources, the positivity of the fight is 95%. Though not yet announced, UFC 127 is expected to take place on Feb. 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. The show is expected to air on pay-per-view.
Rivera’s UFC 122 fight was pulled out when Sakara succumbed to flu-like symptoms.
Rivera was in moderate success in his previous UFC bouts. But he had three consecutive wins under UFC cards too. These three consecutive wins include a decision win against Nissen Osterneck, stopped win against Rob Kimmons at UFC 104 and the fight with Nate Quarry at UFC Fight Night 21 in March.
Bisping, on the other hand, have three wins in his past four bouts, a back to back decision wins over Dan Miller and Yoshihiro Akiyama. TUF 3 winner’s had a close decision to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110.
After UFC 122, Dana White, UFC President commented on the Rivera vs Sakara fight which was initially slated for UFC 118 before both fighters were injured.
“To me on doing the fight again: I don’t know,” he said. “The thing is that I know it sucks when these things happen. I know how hard Jorge trained for this fight (and how he) was so pumped at the weigh-ins. (But) we’re doing so many fights. I’m sure we’ll pop him into a fight real quick and get him going again.”View Article Source »
