UFC 122 Tickets Almost Sold Out

"The UFC community is so connected [on] Twitter, Myspace or YouTube that the fans of the UFC in Germany know what is happening. They don't need television to be guided to an event." ---Marek Lieberberg, UFC Promoter
A representative from UFC’s German partner announced that UFC 122 is selling very well to German fans. However, tickets weren’t sold out yet. Marek Lieberberg, UFC German promoter, said that 8,000 and 9,000 tickets have been sold for the show. UFC 122 will take place this Saturday at Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany.
“The UFC community is so connected [on] Twitter, Myspace or YouTube that the fans of the UFC in Germany know what is happening,” Lieberberg said. “They don’t need television to be guided to an event.”
It was March when UFC last aired then it was banned by Bavarian office for new media. Lieberberg is still confident that UFC will win the legal case and be back on air soon.
“It will be my advice as the partner of the UFC that our strategy is twofold,” he said. “Number one, we fight the legal issues out in a court of law. I think the law has been manipulated in this case. There has been no legal decision. It’s just been a decision of the (Bavarian television) board. But this decision has not been approved by a court of law, so I think now … it will be decided.
“The second part is to continue staging events because the best advertising for the UFC is a fantastic live event.”
UFC 122 is headlined by a title bout between middleweights Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami.
“Their word counts, and I can’t say that about some of the people in the music industry.”
