Pyle Out-wrestled Hathaway
John "The Hitman" Hathaway's record got its first cross mark after acquiring his pioneer defeat from Xtreme Couture's Mike Pyle. And in addition to a marred record, he also got a battered face.
Mike Pyle ended John “The Hitman” Hathaway’s undefeated streak via unanimous decision at the UFC 120 last Saturday. Both fighters came out in the first round with caution. But it was not long before Pyle shot a hard double-leg to the London Shootfighters product. However, Hathaway was able to recover and took the center cage. But Pyle managed to find a home for his right hand, throwing his opponent to the floor to end the frame.
John Hathaway attempted to erase the memories of the first round as he came out aggressive in the following bout. Fortunately, he find his range midway through the round, and scored with a nice combination. He executed a beautiful throw and secured a mounted triangle by side-control. But Pyle was able slip off and rattled the Brit with heavy elbows and punches.
It was the same ground-and-pound that Mike Pyle gave to The Hitman on the third round, after passing a side-control. He ended the round on top, battering Hathaway’s face. All three judges score that night was 30-27 in favor of Mike Pyle.View Article Source »
