Shane Carwin Returns to the Octagon
After his UFC 116 fight, there came no bookings for Shane Carwin. Our resident heavyweight had long waited and now he's totally on the run again. As UFC plans their 2011 opening event, Shane Carwin earned a slot on the wild card.
Shane Carwin, former title challenger, is expected to return on January 1. Today, he tweeted tentative booking for the 2011 opening for UFC. The UFC 125 main card that will take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Not official about the opponent but Carwin expects someone who is part of the PPV.
Carwin (12-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC), hasn’t entered the cage since UFC 116. He lost on the second round via submission to Brock Lesnar. Before that, he had 12 consecutive wins all via stoppage. Knockouts of UFC fighters Christian Wellisch, Neil Wain, Gabriel Gonzaga and Frank Mir gave him a title as the world’s top-10 heavyweight rankings.
Carwin however hasn’t spoken yet since August reports linked him to Applied Pharmacy Services which was shut down due to illegal distribution of anabolic steroids. However, he never failed any drug test since his first one.
His manager and UFC president Dana White remained silent about the issue. And as of the moment there is no legal action taken.View Article Source »
