Maia vs Grove and Bonnar vs Pokrajac Set for TUF 12 Finale
Maia, Grove, Bonnar and Pokrajac. All of them got an impressive record in the Octagon, and all of them advances to the TUF 12 finale. Who will be the beast of the night and the honey in a jar?
Demian Maia is set to collide with Kendall Grove at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale on December 4, at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Demian Maia secured eight out of his 13 career wins via submission, and earned four Submission of the Night bonuses in his nine appearances in the Octagon. The 33-year-old Brazilian fighter last fought in August when he knocked out Mario Miranda by unanimous decision. Andchoring his resume are victories from Ed Herman, Chael Sonnen and Dan Miller.
Kendall Grove, meanwhile, has not competed since earning a split decision over Goran Reljic at UFC 116. Grove, the tallest middleweight in the promotion at 6-foot-6, owns a 7-4 mark in the UFC, and holds notable wins over Alan Belcher, Jake Rosholt and the late Evan Tanner.
Moving on, Stephan Bonnar will lock horns with Igor Pokrajac in a featured light heavyweight match. A 33-year-old Carlson Gracie disciple, Bonnar has delivered ten of his 12 career victory via knockout, TKO or submission. Highlighting his resume are triumphs over Keith Jardine, James Irvin and Forrest Griffin.
Igor Pokrajac, on the other hand, notched his initial UFC victory after submitting Irvin at UFC Live 2 in August. He scored 19 of his 22 wins by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Prior his 2009 arrival, Pokrajac celebrated an eight winning streak.
