UFC Prelims is Here for UFC 123 Michigan
The phenomenon of UFC Prelims is here once again for UFC 123 in Michigan. From its previous successes in the past, it is a new taste of battle inside the octagon.
The official line-up for the UFC Michigan is now complete. From a source, we’ve learned that in addition to the night’s pay per view plans, Spike TV will also broadcast the Mark Munoz vs. Aaron Simpson and Matt Brown vs. Rory MacDonald contests on a live “UFC Prelims” special.
The UFC 123 will be here on Nov. 20 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit. Featuring a ight-heavyweight bout between former champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida headlines the pay-per-view portion of the show.
Munoz (8-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC), saw his three-fight win collapsed when Yushin Okami defeated him via split decision at UFC on Versus 2. Prior to that, the former WEC fighter picked up UFC wins over Nick Catone, Ryan Jensen and Kendall Grove.
Simpson (7-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC), looks to regrow from his MMA loss, which brought about Chris Leben in June at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale. After his career debut of six straight knockout victories and a split-decision win over Tom Lawlor at UFC Fight Night 20, Simpson suffered a second-round TKO loss to Leben.
Brown (13-9 MMA, 4-3 UFC) has had two consecutive losses on the octagon. The most recent, was with Chris Lytle at UFC 116 in a rematch of an August 2007 American Fight League bout. But unfortunately he was submitted to an armbar in the second round. Renzo Gracie protege Ricardo Almeida caught him in a rear-naked choke at UFC 111 as well.
MacDonald (10-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has his most recent bout with Carlos Condit at UFC 115 and was going well on his way to the belt. This was against the former WEC welterweight champion. Most unfortunately, Condit managed to battle back, and in the final moments of the three-round fight with an impressive display of ground and pound. With seven seconds left, Condit got the TKO.View Article Source »
