Cro Cop, Injured but Still Going to Fight on UFC 119
Cro Cop supporters should all rejoice. Since your UFC 119 bet, Mikro Cro Cop Filipovic, is still on the headline for UFC 119. Croatian news which said that he cannot fight is a fallacy.
Last Friday, Dana White said that the Croatian news which said that an eye injury might force Cro Cop to step out of the Sept.25 headliner is “untrue”.
“His last day of sparring – the last 10 minutes of the last day of sparring – he got poked in the eye,” said White, who was in Rosemead, Calif., for the latest UFC Gym opening. “But he’s seen an opthamologist; he’s seen everybody.”
White assured that Filipovic who was replacement for Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, is cleared and ready to fight.
“Cro Cop, he’s already on the plane now or has already landed in Indianapolis,” White said on Saturday afternoon. “He’s fine. He’s fighting.”
The UFC 119 will take place on Indianapolis’ Conseco Fieldhouse, main card airs on pay-per-view.
Filipovic (27-7-2 MMA, 4-3 UFC) seems to improve his impressive 5-1 run. The one and only loss came from Junior Dos Santos and he immediately recovered from that. With a stoppage win over Anthony Perosh at UFC 110 and Pat Barry at UFC 115.
Cro Cop, is just a mere 1-2 since his win over Nogueira that marked the first ever stoppage loss of the Brazilian fighter. Recent stretch includes KO losses to Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin and a submission win over Cheick Kongo.View Article Source »
