Josh Barnetts Awaits for Strikeforce Debut

Barnett is ready to face a new path on his fighting career.
Josh Barnett went straight to the point about his career intention during the Thurday episode of “The MMA Hour.”
“My goal is to be the absolute best in the world and to beat everybody who walks this earth. And you know what? There’s a lot of people out there,” Barnett said in a statement.
Barnett signed a contract with Strikeforce, which he described to be not perfect but enough to clean his name after the failed drug test prior to his fight with Fedor Emelianenko in July, 2009.
No definite plans yet on who will Barnett face inside the octagon. However, he is expecting his debut to happen by the end of the year.
Barnett added that he made no effort to negotiate with UFC.”They stepped up to the plate and I dealt with them as such. That’s really what it comes down to. The UFC, I think they’re not really in a spot where they need to acquire anybody. It’s probably better for them to just take a newbie and make him look great than to actually have to deal with great fighters.”
