Rousimar Pelhares TKO over Nate Marquardt on UFC Fight Night 22
After a series of complains, Pelhares went home with no luck after being TKO-ed by Nate Marquardt on UFC Fight Night 22's main card.
UFC Fight Night 22’s main hard headliner Nate Marquardt knocked out Rousimar Palhares with huge punches on the ground – only to have Palhares complain about the cheating of his opponent by greasing up his legs.
Palhares seemed to have Marquardt where he wanted him on the ground, sinking on his signature heel hooks. But the latter pulled his leg free and Palhares complained to the referee that Marquardt must have been greasing. Stupid for Palhares to complain during the fight, Marquardt made him pay for the humiliation. Giving a hard punch and then a bunch of more punches until the referee stopped the fight.
Marquardt insisted that he had done nothing improper to the game and Palhares shook the latters hand, hugged him and acknowledged him the rightful winner.
UFC President Dana White tweeted and declare that the Texas State Athletic Commission chcked Marquardt and was “dry as a bone”. The slippery legs must have been swear.
“They checked it before I fought,” Marquardt said. “I came out really warm because I wanted a good sweat. I wanted to be slippery. I just saw an opportunity and jumped on it.”
Marquardt improved his record to 30-9-2. This will go toward putting him back at the UFC middleweight title. Palhares then fell into 11-3 and will be home kicking himself for the complaints.
