UFC 118 to Broadcast on Big Screens
Ultimate Fighting Championship works hand-in-hand with NCM Fathom to bring back mixed martial arts back to the big screen and first time to the Bay State.
Fans of the sport should prepare for a blood curling action as UFC 118 presents the much anticipated rematch between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn on August 28. The two presenting organizations have rolled out a high-definition experience for fans as they bring live octagon action to 369 select theaters in the country.
The title event will air live from the TD garden in Boston and fans who want to purchase tickets may visit www.FathomEvents.com or their local participating cinema box offices. NCM Fathom also provides on its website a complete list of presenting cinemas and prices (which are subject to change). Those who will purchase four theater tickets can receive a free TapouT tee. They may visit www.ufc.com.4pack to check out redemption details.
Not only is this a cinematic fight but a historical one. Two years after legislators have been pushing for the sport’s coming to Massachusetts, the MMA regulation finally allowed the UFC to heat up the Bay State atmosphere with some fiery fight shows.
NCM Fathom VP Dan Diamond said, “Fathom and UFC present another grouping of bone-crunching matches for the delight of hungry MMA fans this month with UFC 118 : Edgar vs. Penn 2. If you can’t be ringside in Boston, be front-row center in your local movie theater for the ultimate UFC experience.”
Here are the main and other bouts slated to rock fans nationwide and in Boston:
* Title fight – Edgar vs Penn 2
* Randy Couture vs James Toney
* Kenny Florian vs Gray Maynard
