Terry Etim Replaced by Gabe Ruediger on UFC 118
After the long run, finally Gabe Ruediger hits UFC 118.
Gabe Ruedger finally hits UFC.
The controversial fighter of the fifth season of TUF has finally made it to UFC. Controversies came upon Ruedger when he failed to make weight on the show against Corey Hill after being caught eating ice cream cake and getting a colonic. He was then kicked out of the scene by Dana White. He had agreed to step in on a short spot fight with Joe Lauzon on UFC 118 on August 28.
The spot was originally for Terry Etim. But unfortunately the latter was pulled out due to broken rib injury. Ruedger took his place instead.
Since the show started in 2007, Ruedger (17-5) is 7-2, which includes winning his last 6 fights in a row. The ex-WEC lightweight champ had previously fought iside the Octagon, but losing it with Melvin Guillard via 2nd round TKO on the UFC 63.
Lauzon (18-6), will be fighting in his home town in Massachusetts is coming off from a loss against Sam Stout, on UFC 108. He was co members with Ruediger on TUF 5.
Lauzon vs. Ruediger is still expected to air on the Spike TV prelims.
UFC 118, headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. BJ Penn II, will mark the organization’s first event in Boston.View Article Source »
