UFC President, Dana White, announced today that the winner of the John Fitch and Thiago Alves showdown has a chance for a title shot next year. The winner will face whoever wins between George St. Pierre or Josh Koscheck. With this announcement by White comes many intriguing questions.
Will it matter for St. Pierre who will win, in case he gets by Koscheck? Will Alves get the next title by default in the event that he fails to make-weight, and Fitch won’t fight him at the cageweight? If Koscheck and Alves wins their respective fights, will they remain true with their “I won’t fight a team member” vow, or Fitch will forfeit his title shot? Who will leave Amercian Kickboxing Academy in case the Koscheck-Fitch title fight has been agreed upon?
