Paul Daley will Join Shark Fights 13 Line-up
After he lost his temper and decked Koscheck down, it was lucky for Paul Daley to fight again in the US. Brent Medley gave the Nottingham, England native a chance to show off his striking skills again.
Paul Daley has been added to the Shark Fights 13 Line-up on September 11 at the Amarillo Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas. According to Brent Medley, Shark Fights President, opponent for the heavy-handed British is being finalized. Daley has signed to Shark Fights for one fight in accordance to the promotion’s standard contract.
Daley was one of the favorite fighters in the UK scene until he was picked for the co-promoted EliteXC Strikeforce event in 2007. Two years after, he gained notice in the UFC welterweight division after a back-to-back knock out against Martin Kampann and Dustin Hazelett. The 27-year old fighter earned a fight with John Koscheck at UFC 13 last May. Unfortunately, Koscheck won him over with a unanimous decision. Dana White, UFC President, promptly released him from his contract after he loss his emotions and decked Koscheck afterwards. As of the moment, Daley is waiting for his official suspension notice from the Quebec Boxing Commission/Montreal Athletic Commission.
However, Medley said he had spoken with Daley’s attorney, as well as the Texas Combative Sports Program (which will oversee the event). They believe that the fighter’s lingering suspension with the Canadian Commission wouldn’t be a problem.
Shark Fights 13 will be co-headlined by two light heavyweight match. The promotional champion Trevor Prangley will face former UFC staple Keith Jardine in the main event. Rameau Thierry Sokjoudou, 2001 US judo champion, will fight against Nebraskan striker Houston Alexander at the second billing.View Article Source »
