UFC 116 Declared Drug-Free

Good News! As reported by MMA Fighting Nevada, the UFC 116's 15 fighters were tested negative for performance enhancers. According to Nevada state athletic commission executive Keith Kizer, UFC fighters are free from any banned substance.

UFC 116 took place last July 3 at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Things were hot especially Brock defeating Shane with a second round submission on the said event. was retained as UFC heavyweight champ.

Lesnar and Carwin are among those who were tested clean with drugs. The NSAC has traditionally tested the fighters for the main event, though every fighter were randomly tested as well.

Drug-free fighters were Chris Leben and Yoshihiro Akiyama along with Chris Lytle, Matt Brown, Krzyzstof Soszynski, Stephan Bonnar, Brendan Schaub, , Kendall Grove, Ricardo Romero, Jon Madsen, Gerald Harris and Daniel Roberts.

But those who were not tested were : Kurt Pellegrino, Chris Tuchscherer, Seth Petruzelli, Goran Reljic, Dave Branch, Forrest Petz and Karlos Vemola.

There has been no UFC fighter who failed a drug test since Karo Parisyan was tested positive for three banned substances at UFC 94 in January 2009.
